Warehouse Operator
Job Description
BASIC FUNCTION:
Warehouse Clerk is responsible for staging loading and unloading areas with appropriate equipment, materials and space. Prepare, package, document and deliver outgoing materials. Communicate with suppliers, receivers, drivers and staff for smooth shipment. Receive, inspect, inventory, document and store shipments. Oversee data system for storage and tracking of goods and shipments Comply with SQF, Food Safety Plan (HACCP), Food Quality Plan (FQP) standards. Alternate cover: Shipping and Receiving Coordinator

Inventory:
• Enter daily transfers into SAP (between 250, 228, and Green)
• Inform Inventory Manager when there are discrepancies and help to correct them
• Assist in Cycle Counting process as needed
Receiving:
• Inbound Report
• Daily Recap
• Receive and sign deliveries from FedEx/UPS
• Assist with transfers of materials and trays between 228 and 250
• Notify Purchasing Manager when there are vendors who don’t schedule delivery appointments, or there are appointments scheduled past the due date
• Contact vendors when items requiring COAs or COCs are delivered without them so that we may get them.
• Receive orders into the system after delivery and verification of items received
• Notify requester when their orders have been delivered and follow instructions on where to send items
• Schedule delivery appointments for vendors
• Manually create a BOL when necessary (transfers to Green, vitamin orders, etc)
• Close out orders in SAP when they are shipped (to create BOL and packing list)
• Contact vendors about open orders that are past the due date to get updates
• Give orders to Material Handlers when ready to pick
• Contact carriers to schedule pick ups of daily orders from 228 and Green Packing
• Complete Advance Shipping Notices for orders
• Send reports at the end of the day summarizing the day’s activities
• Order pallets and schedule delivery as needed by production
• Compile all paperwork from the day (orders shipped, POs received, claims filed, etc) to send to finance in the morning.
• Assist with forklift certification for temporary employees
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline preferred,
• 1-2 years experience in logistics functions in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Strong analytical/problem solving/process improvement skills;
• Demonstrated planning ability;
• Ability to prioritize and follow-through to achieve results and meet deadlines;
• Experience with SAP, or similar program preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office;
• Good leadership skills, with an ability to build trust, provide direction, and execute with excellence;
• Strong foundation in interpersonal communication concepts, specifically, written, oral, presentation, listening, and facilitation skills;
• Ability to facilitate change, foster innovation and results;
• Ability to coordinate multiple priorities and develop effective solutions;
• Knowledge of machinery operations and packaging equipment;
• Ability to lift 50 pounds on occasion.
