The Human Resources Department within the Company is looking for a Junior HR Business Partner to support the Company Montreal Global Center HR team. In this role, the individual will support managers and employees across multiple business lines within Canada.

The Role:
This role is a unique opportunity to become part of a team of Human Resources professionals dedicated to providing client support for initiatives that impact the short- and long-term strategy for the Calgary Office and local Business Units. This individual will have exposure to all areas of HR as well as all levels of management within the business. The ability to interact remotely with clients, HR teams in all locations and handle high volumes of work will be critical for success in this role.
General Responsibilities:
Actively work with business leaders and employees to support the day-to-day needs including:
• Ensure proper support in all steps of the employee life cycle from onboarding to termination
• Provide support and smooth management of the HR processes such as performance evaluation and compensation/promotion, fostering a two-way communication with management and functional HR Coverage colleagues
• Manage employee relations issues, including partnering with Employee Relations and/or Employment Law
• Advise clients on the resolution of employee relations and performance management issues, provide coaching, counseling, and conflict resolution
• Partner with multiple HR functions such as Recruiting, Learning and Development, Diversity, Compensation, and Reporting, HR Operations and other Coverage teams on various initiatives.
• Ensure we are creating and maintaining consistent policies across the organization and working with appropriate partners when adjustments need to be made
• Advise and coach management on review of underperformers and development plans.
• Manage and coordinate international transfers into and out of Canada
• Handle the department’s reporting and tax credit submission files
• Answering employee’s questions on HR policies and processes
• Managing the ergonomics request process
• Managing maternity, paternity, parental leaves
• Update HR system with transactions (Workday)
• Setting up and managing non-technical HR-related training
Required Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of HR Generalist experience (experience in client management & employee relations)
• A strong client focus with outstanding judgement, critical thinking, and analytical skills
• Team-oriented with strong influencing skills and demonstrated ability or aptitude for team leadership
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and in French
• The ability to deal with the uncertainties of an evolving, dynamic organization
• Must be proactive with the enthusiasm to share new ideas and create solutions for HR initiatives and client challenges
• Capability to manage difficult conversations and stressful situations
Desired Skills:
• Financial Services or Technology Industry experience
• Advanced Excel skills (V-look ups, pivot tables, etc)
• HR Systems: Experience using Workday
