Position Description:
We are looking for a Solution Architect who will be able to work on specific Transformational and Strategic technology deliverables on behalf of the Architecture & Governance function within Institutional Securities. This role requires the ability to quickly assimilate information and go deep into topics of interest to our technology community. You will be co-authoring Architecture Decision Records, Solution Architecture Descriptions, Guidelines, and other Strategy artefacts for the division.
Responsibilities:
– Understanding and applying the Technology Principles defined by Enterprise Architecture and using agreed frameworks that help produce robust Solutions.
– Deep diving into topics of Data Architecture: how data is managed, copied, stored, transformed, and used.
– Responsible for researching technical topics of interest, drafting technical papers and coordinating technical discussions that will result in deliverables published internally.
– Working with central centers of excellence (Cloud, Data, Security etc) to develop best practice and blueprints outside the division.
– Working with developers and/or using development tools to prototype solutions, analyze data or compare options.
Required Skills:
– Excellent communication skills: the majority of the output will be technical writing.
– Deep expertise or understanding of Data Architecture and/or the associated concepts and tools: databases, data catalogs, data movement frameworks, security etc.
– 10+ years of experience architecting reporting or client facing solutions, ideally within Financial Services or similar industry.
– Experience of working with an Enterprise Architecture team that defines policies, patterns and standards.
– Understanding of Architecture methodology (either from a consulting organization or from within a team that follows a structured Architecture process).
Nice to have:
– Experience working with public cloud compute
– Experience working with Kafka and/or Event Bus type architectures.
– Experience working with Snowflake or other Cloud based Data Platforms.
– Experience with data catalogs or modelling tools.
– Data analysis skills such as SQL and basic coding.
